Burns Electric believes that customers and employees are our greatest asset.
If anyone has attended an IEC Texas Gulf Coast Chapter event they have inevitably met or seen Larry or Dorene Burns. Larry’s history in the electrical business goes back a long way! Burns Electric, Inc. has been in business for 70 years. Larry’s father, Harry W. Burns started in 1947 in Channelview, Texas. Larry has worked for the company in all phases of its operation since he was six years old. Although at six his main duty was to “fetch” mom or dad if someone came to the office, by 10 or 11 he remembers repairing small appliances. This was his first step to carrying on the family business.
During most of the 70 years, Burns Electric, Inc. has specialized in the maintenance & new construction of service stations and fuel systems. We have constructed and maintained Exxon/Mobil, Chevron, Texaco, and Shell stations for over 60 years as well as government and municipal fuel systems. While there have been opportunities to expand to include areas of new construction, staying a smaller contractor has allowed us to offer quality for a economical price.
Burns Electric believes that customers and employees are our greatest asset. We work hard to develop relationships with both. This is evident by the longevity of several employees. Larry believes that schooling is very important to be a well-trained electrician and good employee. Several of our employees have graduated from the IEC Apprentice Trade School.
